Wood & Mother of Pearl Chess Board — Geometric Inlaid Squares on Espresso Ground, Board Only

A chess and backgammon board with every square itself a miniature inlaid composition of mother of pearl on dark wood.

The light squares present a dense geometric lattice of interlocking diamond and cross-form devices, the iridescent shell catching light against the espresso ground, the dark squares plain wood for chromatic rest. The border is a continuous band of mother of pearl and dark wood micro-mosaic in a repeating star pattern of exceptional fineness. A collector's object representing hundreds of hours of hand work at the limit of the craft.
