Porcelain Jewellery Box — Cobalt Ground with Hand-Painted Rose Medallion & Gilt Mounts

A jewellery casket in deep cobalt porcelain, its domed lid centred on a hand-painted oval medallion of pink roses.

A gilt rope twist border and white rococo scrollwork spread across the cobalt field like frost on glass, the body mounted throughout in gilt metal with a central acanthus cartouche and four burnished gold cabriole feet. The hinge is clean and well-fitted, the lid sitting flush when closed. A piece made to be placed on a dressing table and left there.
