Mother of Pearl & Black Resin Drum Stool — Mosaic Fragment

A drum stool entirely encrusted with irregular fragments of mother of pearl set into a deep black resin ground.

Vertical dividing stripes of solid bone run the full height at regular intervals, imposing quiet order upon the organic mosaic and drawing the eye to the top surface, where fragment inlay radiates outward from a central ebony medallion in a sunburst. The overall effect is at once ancient and contemporary — a mosaic floor lifted onto a sculptural form. A piece that rewards close inspection as much as it commands from across the room.
