Moroccan Flatweave Kilim — Crimson Horizontal Bands with Geometric Motifs, Hand-Woven Wool

A hand-woven flatweave kilim on a deep crimson ground, structured entirely in horizontal bands of varying geometric registers.

Cross motifs, diamond lattices, hourglass forms and zigzag chains alternate across the field in ivory, saffron, amber and indigo, no two bands identical. The weave is flat and tight, the wool smooth and fine, finished with a burnt orange fringe of characteristic tribal informality. Equally effective as a floor rug, a wall hanging, or layered beneath a larger carpet.
