Monumental Moorish Brass Chandelier — Hexagonal Stained Glass & Hand-Pierced Arabesque, Single

Handcrafted

A chandelier of monumental scale and exceptional craftsmanship, constructed in polished brass and coloured stained glass across a hexagonal body of architectural proportion. Six tall arched glass panels — alternating between deep emerald green and ruby red — are set within hand-pierced brass frames of arabesque scrollwork, each panel surmounted by a pointed Moorish arch of extraordinary delicacy. The domed crown above is entirely hand-pierced in a dense field of interlocking floral and foliate motifs, and the lower section repeats the pierced arabesque work in a wide inverted dome that balances the composition below. The whole is suspended from an ornate star-form brass ceiling rose on heavy decorative chains.

The scale of this piece is architectural — at 60 centimetres wide and 125 centimetres tall, it operates as the centrepiece of an entire room rather than a mere light fitting. When illuminated, the stained glass panels throw pools of emerald and ruby light across surrounding walls and ceilings, while the pierced brass crown and base project constellations of intricate shadow pattern in every direction simultaneously. The effect is total and immersive.

A piece of this ambition and scale demands a double-height space — a grand entrance hall, a palatial dining room, a riad courtyard, or a reception room where the ceiling is high enough to let the chandelier breathe and the light it throws can be fully appreciated. One of the most significant lighting pieces in the collection.
