Monumental Antique Mirror — Hand-Inlaid Mother of Pearl & Camel Bone with Pierced Crown
A mirror of palatial scale and unrivalled craftsmanship, its frame entirely hand-inlaid with mother of pearl and camel bone across a dark wood ground in the most elaborate tradition of Islamic decorative art. The pierced crown rises in a pointed arch of open-work floral and foliate scrollwork, centred on a circular medallion of exceptional detail — the entire crest tiled in mother of pearl that shimmers with every shift of light.
Below the crown, three miniature minarets flank a horseshoe arch tiled in herringbone mother of pearl, which descends into a second arch of carved floral inlay surrounding the mirror glass. The side panels carry continuous calligraphy in white bone on dark ground, bordered by beaded columns and geometric micro-inlay. The lower apron carries matching scrollwork and scalloped finials that echo the crown above.
At 150 cm wide and 307 cm tall, this is a statement piece of architectural proportion — a mirror that transforms any room it enters into something resembling a palace.
