Khatam Micro-Mosaic & Hand-Painted Chess Board — Peacock & Floral Border

A folding chess board of exceptional decorative ambition, its playing surface framed by a hand-painted border of extraordinary detail — peacocks in full plumage among flowering peonies, hibiscus, and botanical sprays rendered in cobalt blue, turquoise, crimson, and gold against a light ground. The chess grid itself is inlaid in Khatam micro-mosaic, alternating dark and amber squares assembled from thousands of tiny geometric fragments with the patience and precision the tradition demands. The reverse of the board is natural polished wood with matching hand-painted peacock motifs on each folding panel, the scalloped inner edge adding an architectural flourish to the interior. A brass hinge connects the two halves, folding flat for storage or display.
