A rectangular tissue box holder of remarkable decorative refinement, its top and side surfaces covered in Khatam micro-mosaic — thousands of tiny fragments of wood, bone, and metal wire assembled into an intricate geometric star lattice in warm amber and gold tones. The front face introduces a change of register: a hand-painted enamel panel in cobalt and turquoise blue carries a polychrome composition of floral arabesques and botanical scrollwork in white, crimson, and gold, framed by fine gold stringing borders. A rectangular opening on the top surface accommodates a standard tissue box, the functional purpose of the piece entirely concealed within its decorative programme.
