A jewellery box entirely covered in Khatam micro-mosaic, its lid centred on a hand-painted enamel medallion.

Arabesque scrollwork and floral motifs in turquoise, crimson and gold surround a mother of pearl rosette centre on a deep dark ground, framed by concentric borders of micro-mosaic and fine stringing. The interior is lined in deep burgundy velvet, a considered contrast to the warm amber exterior. A jewellery box that is itself a jewel.
