Handwoven Wool Kilim — Saffron Field with Scattered Tribal Symbols

A flatweave kilim woven in warm luminous saffron, its open ground scattered with tribal symbols in rust, slate, ivory and olive.

Cross forms, stepped diamonds, geometric tree motifs and abstract talismanic marks are dispersed with the intuitive freedom of the hand rather than the rigidity of a loom pattern. A continuous zigzag border in deep tobacco frames the composition, the lower edge finished in a generous fringe of vivid yellow wool. Exceptionally versatile, working beneath a dining table, in an entrance hall, or over stone flooring.
