Cloisonné Enamel Candlesticks — Crimson & Gold Arabesque, Matching Pair
A pair of candlesticks of exceptional decorative refinement, each hand-enamelled in the cloisonné tradition across a classic column form — a wide flared base tapering to a slender shaft and opening at the crown to a flat candle collar. The ground is a deep crimson of extraordinary richness, covered entirely in a dense all-over arabesque of interlocking floral scrolls, rosette devices, and geometric lattice rendered in gold, ivory, and jewel tones of amber and teal. Gold banding at the base, midpoint, and collar provides horizontal articulation, dividing the surface into distinct decorative registers without interrupting the continuity of the arabesque pattern.
The cloisonné work is of exceptional fineness — the wire partitions that define each motif barely visible within the enamel, the colours fired to a depth and consistency that only the kiln can achieve. The surface glows under candlelight, the crimson ground deepening and the gold brightening as the flame above throws warm light downward across the shaft. In use, these candlesticks transform any table or surface into a setting of ceremonial warmth.
Presented as a matching pair, they are suited to a dining table, a mantelpiece, a console, or any surface where objects of genuine decorative authority are welcome.
