Camel Bone & Wood Hexagonal Side Table — Moorish Inlay with Hidden Storage

A hexagonal side table of considerable ingenuity, its inlaid top surface concealing a hinged lid that lifts to reveal a generous interior storage compartment, divided by a hand-cut star partition in warm cedar wood. The top is decorated with a dense Moorish star composition in camel bone, wood marquetry, and geometric micro-inlay — border upon border of chevron, floral, and interlocking star motifs radiating from a central medallion. The base is equally considered: ebonised turned legs connected by a pierced Moorish arch apron and a hexagonal star stretcher below, the whole structure a study in the classical Islamic woodworking tradition.
