Camel Bone Inlaid Cabinet — Pierced Lattice Doors with Hand-Painted Floral Panels

A two-door cabinet entirely clad in hand-cut camel bone on a warm ivory ground, its doors fitted with pierced geometric lattice panels framed by hand-painted floral borders in natural earth tones.

The upper panels are set beneath pointed arches — a form drawn from the classical vocabulary of Islamic architecture — while the lower panels sit within rectangular frames, the lattice work continuous and rhythmic throughout. Between the lattice fields, trailing vine borders in soft green, ochre, and sienna are painted directly onto the bone surface with the loose confidence of a hand working from tradition rather than template. A carved rope-twist cornice runs the full width, and the base sits on bracket feet inlaid to the floor. The pierced lattice allows air to circulate within, making this piece as practical as it is decorative.
