The tray-form board presents alternating squares of ivory camel bone and near-black resin, each square inlaid with a central diamond motif that adds a secondary layer of geometric detail to every playing field. The squares meet with precision, the ivory and black in absolute contrast, the grid reading with immediate graphic clarity. The exterior of the tray is clad entirely in camel bone tiles in a warm, continuous ivory surface, the brass clasp fastenings at the front providing a functional and elegant finish.
The chess pieces are hand-carved in matching camel bone — one set in natural ivory white with the warm, slightly translucent quality of bone at its finest, the other stained to a deep black that matches the resin squares of the board.
