Bronze Orientalist Camel Rider Sculpture — Polychrome Huntsman with Saluki Dogs on Naturalistic Base

Handcrafted

A stunning polychrome bronze sculpture in the grand French Orientalist tradition, depicting a turbaned huntsman astride a walking camel, his arm raised in command, two saluki hunting dogs running at pace beneath. The entire composition is cast in solid bronze and finished in a rich polychrome patina — saffron and olive green robes, warm copper tones on the camel and figures, and a deep verdigris naturalistic base of grass and foliage.

The level of compositional complexity is exceptional — four figures in dynamic motion unified in a single fluid scene, each rendered with anatomical precision and narrative energy. The salukis in particular are cast with extraordinary delicacy, their lean frames and long legs perfectly proportioned against the mass of the camel above.

A collector's piece of genuine artistic distinction, referencing the great Orientalist bronze tradition of Barye, Frémiet and their contemporaries.
