Antique Moroccan Tribal Carpet — All-Over Geometric Field in Amber, Terracotta & Indigo, Hand-Knotted Wool

An antique hand-knotted wool carpet with an all-over geometric field in amber and terracotta, patterned in ivory, indigo and burnt sienna.

The field fills edge to edge without a single empty register, divided into three horizontal registers each with its own medallion arrangement. A wide amber and saffron border is filled with angular floral sprays, arrow forms and hooked devices, framed by narrow indigo guard stripes. The depth of colour, achieved through natural dyeing, gives the carpet an aged luminosity synthetic dyes cannot replicate.
