Antique Hand-Carved & Painted Double Door — Calligraphy Frieze with Floral & Rosette Panels

A monumental antique door of extraordinary presence, hand-carved from solid dark wood and painted by hand across six recessed panels crowned by a continuous calligraphy frieze. The upper register bears an ornate open-lattice band with Arabic inscriptions running the full width, surmounted by carved finials and scrollwork at the apex.

The six door panels are arranged in three tiers — acanthus and foliate cartouches at the top, calligraphy medallions at the centre, and bold rosette medallions at the base — each framed by beaded moulding in the finest tradition of Islamic joinery. Rope-twist pilasters flank the composition on either side, completing a piece that carries the authority of a palace entrance.

The darkened patina of the paint and wood speaks to genuine age — a door that has witnessed centuries.
